Six Cardinal Rules of Communication

Rule 1. Be Clear - Determine the purpose Know exactly what response you want from your listener.
Rule 2. Be Prepared - (Who? What? Where? Which? Why? and How?)
Rule 3. Be Simple - Avoid jargons that the other person may not understand.
Rule 4. Be Vivid - Use examples to illustrate your point.
Rule 5. Be Natural - While communication requires you to adapt to different people and circumstances, do not pretend to be another person altogether to impress the audience.
Rule 6. Be Concise - Keep to the point at all times.

Analyze your communicative efforts in the light of the 6 cardinal rules.
Be aware of your areas of strength with regard to these rules
Work gradually but persistently to practice the 6 cardinal rules.
